Andrew Bynum putting up impressive numbers since the All-Star break

Hello World!

Los Angeles Lakers oft-injured big man Andrew Bynum has been putting up some extremely impressive numbers since the All-Star break.  After his dominant 10-point, 18-rebound, 4-block performance in a 97-84 victory over Dwight Howard and the Orlando Magic Monday evening, Bynum is averaging 12.1 points, 12.4 rebounds and 2.5 blocks on 66.7% shooting from the field in 31 minutes of action per night over his last ten contests.

In those ten games the Lakers are 9-1, with key wins over Dallas, San Antonio, Atlanta, Oklahoma City and now Orlando – the majority of those W’s coming on the road.

For Bynum this recent surge of success has to be sweet considering the frequent mention of the hulking 7-foot center’s name in trade talks before the February 24th trade deadline.

Although there is not much proof to back the claim that the Lakers truly considered moving Bynum in a potential trade for Carmelo Anthony, the big guy had to hear the growing whispers and by all accounts he looks to have taken it somewhat personally.

However, unlike many of this generation’s young NBA athletes who pout and whine about not being wanted, the young veteran has shown tremendous maturity and pro-activity in using the supposed trade talks as motivation to prove his worth to the defending Champion Lakers.

The Lakers are obviously a completely different animal with Bynum healthy, but with Bynum dominating the paint as he has done over the last ten games, L.A. is virtually unbeatable.

A bold statement, yes, however I challenge you to find anyone around the league who would truly disagree with that sentiment.

Bynum healthy and engaged is a nightmare for the rest of the league.

Well, guess what?

Bynum is healthy and engaged.
