Hawks leave two Game 1 tickets for Magic point guard Jameer Nelson

Hello World!

The Atlanta Hawks are having some fun these days.

With an all-important franchise victory over the 4th-seeded Orlando Magic in Round 1 of the Eastern Conference Playoffs last week, the team’s spokesman Arthur Triche took it upon himself to have a laugh at the expense of one Jameer Nelson.

Before Monday night’s Semifinal round tip-off between the 1-seed Chicago Bulls and the 5th-seeded Hawks, Triche gave the team a jovial and redemptive boost by leaving two Game 1 tickets for Nelson, the Magic starting point guard, to sit back and watch the surprising second round series from the comfy confines of the United Center in downtown Chicago, IL.

No word on whether Nelson took Triche up on the invitation.

However, it was a nice bit of gamesmanship by the Hawks who possibly took offense to Nelson’s premature proclamation that the Magic would see Chicago in the second round after their 102-99 regular season loss to the Bulls on a nationally-televised early Sunday afternoon matchup on April 10th.

Here’s the clip showing Jameer saying he’ll catch Rose and the Bulls in the second round.

And, of course, some highlights from that game.
