2012 NBA Draft

Anthony Davis | Kentucky WildcatsThe New Orleans Hornets won the draft lottery and used their first overall selection in the 2012 NBA Draft on Kentucky Wildcats freshman forward Anthony Davis.

Davis is a 6-foot-10 inch, 214-pound shot-blocking power forward who displays tremendous defensive and rebounding abilities.

The Hornets also drafted guard Austin Rivers with the 10th overall pick in the first round.

2012 NBA Draft Day Trades

Dallas Mavericks traded draft rights to the 17th pick of the first round, Tyler Zeller, along with SG Kelenna Azubuike to the Cleveland Cavaliers for picks No. 24, 33 and 34 in the 2012 NBA Draft.

Miami Heat traded Arnett Moultrie, the 27th pick of the first round, to the Philadelphia 76ers for a future first-round selection and the rights to Philadelphia’s second-round pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, center Justin Hamilton of LSU.

Sacramento Kings traded the 36th pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, UC Santa Barbara guard Orlando Johnson, to the Indiana Pacers for cash considerations.

Portland Trail Blazers traded the 41st overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, Kansas point guard Tyshawn Taylor, to the Brooklyn Nets for cash considerations.

Brooklyn Nets acquired draft rights to Georgia SF Tornike Shengelia, the 54th selection in the 2012 NBA Draft, from the Philadelphia 76ers.

Los Angeles Lakers acquired 55th pick, Marquette PG/SG Darius Johnson-Odom, from the Dallas Mavericks.
