Derrick, Kevin, Rajon, and Dirk welcome back

There was an eerily unfamiliar scene frequented across NBA hardwoods last season. While Lebron James and Kevin Durant dazzled the hoops landscape in their respective cities in their usually exciting fashion, other NBA cities’ fans, namely those in Chicago and Minneapolis, peered down to courts noticeably vacant of their team’s stars. Last season fans saw a league seemingly terrorized by a rash of major injuries that absolutely altered the overall feel and mood of the campaign. No Derrick Rose dashing past defenders at the rim.  No Dirk Nowitzki, for an extended portion of 2012-13, fading away off one-leg from the top of the circle.  No Kevin Love picking, popping and swallowing up every carrom that came his way. No.  Those NBA standbys were absent from the court, and because of that, absent from our … Read entire article »

Dirk Nowitzki leads Dallas Mavericks to their first NBA Title

Dirk Nowitzki leads Dallas Mavericks to their first NBA Title

It was right there for the World to see. A 7-foot tall German giant with light feet and an uncanny propensity to hit awkward one-legged fadeaways and duck-under layups armed with a second chance opportunity to step into the historic annals of NBA lore. Mavs getting wide-open looks thanks to Dirk

Mavs getting wide-open looks thanks to Dirk

Can you say wide open? Peja Stojakovic, Jason Terry, J.J. Barea and Jason Kidd sure as hell can. In the Mavericks shocking Game 3 98-92 dismantling of the World Champs Friday night, all four of the above mentioned Mavs perimeter players benefited significantly from Dirk Nowitzki’s need for a strong double team from the now floundering Los Angeles Lakers. On the night Nowitzki scored 32 points himself, however the respect he appears to have earned from the Lakers … Read entire article »

Dirk and the Mavericks make quick work of resilient Bobcats

Dirk and the Mavericks make quick work of resilient Bobcats

The Dallas Mavericks took down the Charlotte Bobcats 101-92 Saturday night from Time Warner Cable Arena in downtown Charlotte, N.C. Dirk led everybody in the building (really) with 25 points.  Tyson Chandler, arguably, the Mavericks MVP to this point in the season, once again put up an impressive performance scoring just 9 points, but adding 15 rebounds and 2 blocks on the night. Jason Terry, as is customary, came off the bench to post 21 big points … Read entire article »
