Parker leads France past Greece

Tony Parker‘s offensive dominance has become the theme behind France’s impressive march onward during these EuroBasket 2011 games.  With yet another clutch fourth-quarter performance he continued that dominance to help lead France past Greece 64-56 Thursday in the quarter final round of EuroBasket 2011 from Kaunas Arena in Kaunas, Lithuania. Parker, who struggled mightily shooting the ball through the first three quarters of play, found his stroke at the most important of times connecting on 4-of-7 fourth-quarter shots en route to eight huge points to lead … Read entire article »

The 8th-seeded Memphis Grizzlies shocked the NBA Universe by ousting the top-seeded San Antonio Spurs with a 99-91 victory in the 2011 NBA Playoffs Friday night from the Fed Ex Forum in Memphis, Tennessee. Spurs can’t replicate regular season 3-point success in playoffs

The San Antonio Spurs charged through the regular season and into the 2011 NBA Playoffs armed with the league’s second-best overall record at 61-21 and the league lead in 3-point accuracy at just under 40% (39.7). Grizzlies win first playoff game; Zach Randolph gets paid

I guess in order to get yourself a contract extension in Memphis these days all you have to do is get a win in the playoffs. Now obviously that’s not all that went into Zach Randolph‘s interestingly timed 4-year, $71 million dollar contract extension agreed upon just hours after the Memphis Grizzlies upset the San Antonio Spurs 101-98 in Game 1 of their Western Conference first round series matchup. However, on the surface the victory over the … Read entire article »

You dare go under the screen against….Rondo?

Rajon Rondo is not necessarily known for his jumpshot making prowess at this stage in his early NBA career, however in the Celtics impressive 107-97 road victory over the league-leading Spurs Thursday night the reluctant outside shooting Celtics’ point guard successfully converted an impressive six out of nine attempts from mid-range. Big deal you say? For a player who almost habitually gets the “once he gets a jumper he’ll be unstoppable” mantra  attached to his name every time mentioned, yes Rondo consistently knocking down jumpers and looking confident doing it is a very big deal. Especially to the fans in Boston. Thursday night Spurs’ Head Coach Gregg Popovich did what any self-respecting NBA coach would have done when faced with the mighty Boston Celtics – he chose to go under screens when attempting to … Read entire article »

The Los Angeles Lakers are playing their best basketball of the season and it couldn’t have come at a better time with just 10 games remaining on the 2010-11 NBA schedule. After their 112-104 dismantling of the Los Angeles Clippers Friday night, the Lake Show are a smoking hot 14-1 since the All-Star and now sit just 5 games back of the Western Conference leading San Antonio Spurs.
